CHANKANAAB CAVE, HISTORY CHANNEL FILM
During 2004 the History Channel did a very important and interesting documentary of la Quebrada cave system in Cozumel.
The idea of this documentary was to show to the world, how caves are very related to the Mayan culture, many Mayan artifacts where found in this system by Jeff Bozanic, Dennis Williams and other well know explorers.
For the first time this cave had cave divers on CC rebreathers and using this technology to film, explore and be safer in long range cave dives.
If you didn´t see this fantastic documentary you should! It is very well done.
My job in this project was to help carrying gear and co/teach a cave diving class with Jeff Bozanic and Steve Ormeroid in order to train some of the history channel staff including, John Chatterton from Deep Sea Detectives.
This was a fun adventure and a great pleasure to dive and share cave diving stories with all of them, but most importantly we followed very safe protocols to guarantee the safety of the team and the History Channel crew.
