INSTRUCTOR BIO
German Yañez priorities are to enable people to enjoy the underwater activities as safely as possible by providing the highest quality practical education. This can be possible through aggressive skill refinement and experience in the water. Vigorous instruction with a strong student/instructor relationship and strong team work will transfer to the student all the confidence and the knowledge necessary for underwater deep or cave exploration.
This mission statement can only be achived with professional and experienced instructors who have been actively diving and exploring different environments. This is why we would like to introduce your instructor and guide.
German Yañez has been one of the pioneers in underwater cave exploration in Mexico. During the last 15 years he has been teaching overhead environment courses and exploring caves all around the country and other countries as well.
With more than 2000 cave dives and more than 450 cave students and instructors trained, he still enjoys training and guiding novice and experience divers. During his many years as an active underwater explorer, here are some of his major contributions to underwater exploration.
In Cave and Ocean environments:
2005 NAUI Cave level I and Mix Gas level II Instructor workshop director.
2000-2006 Member and safety diving officer for the search of Nuestra Señora del Juncal shipwreck proj ect(1631) in the gulf of Mexico, INAH.
1999-2005 Primary Cave Diving explorer in Aktun Koh, Jaguar, Cocodrilo cave systems and in other cave projects including Chankanaab
Cave, Ponderosa, Aktun chen and no less than 10 unexplored caves in the north of Mexico and the island of Cuba.
1999 Rescue and Recovery Cave Diver for the International Underwater Cave Rescue and Recovery organization IUCRR.
1998 Cave Diving Safety Officer for the NACD, NSS-CDS.
1995-2006 Member of the Cave Diving archaeological team of the National Institute of Anthropology and History INAH.
1997 TDI Mix Gas instructor trainer.
1995 Member of the Deep Black Coral project for the Marine Science Institute of Mexico, all at depths exceeding 250 ft, searching for new species.
1994 CMAS cave diving group. Instructeur plongee souterrane level III.
1995 NSS-CDS and NACD Cave Diving Instructor (sponsor).
1990 CMAS Tree Star Instructor and NAUI open water Instructor.
