TECHNICAL TRAINING FREQUENT QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Q:
If I hold a technical diving certificate from another training agency can I keep on the NAUI Tec or TDI Technical Diving
system? A. Yes. I require Hogarthian equipment configuration for any technical course. Hogarthian is the base of DIR and NTEC Q. Where is the training conducted? A. All the NAUI Tec and TDI technical diving programs are conducted in the island of Cozumel. We have incredible wall dives to perform any technical dive you want. Q. Do you have quality air systems for blending Nitrox, Trimix and Oxygen? A. Cozumel probably has the best and biggest fill station in the world in terms of size capacity, and quality. Infra (MERIDIANO 87) fill station exceeds all the International standards and is a certified gas blending facility. Q. Do you recommend a particular technical diver manual to read prior my training class? A. Yes. The NOAA, US Navy manual, NAUI Tec manuals or TDI manuals. Q. what other technical diving organizations do you teach? A. CMAS Americas www.cmasamericas.com Q. If I am interesting in the Underwater Archaeologist program, is required to be an archaeologist? A. No. This program is designed for experienced archaeological teams but it is also perfect for volunteers who are interested to participate in archaeological projects. Q. If I am a GUE or IANTD technical diver can I do a crossover? A. Yes. But you need to be re-evaluated in water and knowledge before we follow this administrative procedure. This will take you a couple days to complete. Q. Do I need to have DAN insurance? A. Yes. You need a DAN Insurance that covers mix gas diving and depths outside the recreational community. If you have another insurance is fine too, but make sure covers technical diving. Q. Do I need to have a DRY SUIT for my training? A. No. The ocean water is very warm, you may need only a 3-5 mm suit with hood. Its too warm down here. |
